"What- So You Want Everyone To Be Different?"

Yes, someone actually did ask me, "What so you want everyone to be different?" and they were quite surprised when my answer was simply, "yes, I would." How boring life would be if we were all the same! There would be no creativity, no inspiration, and no happiness! I mean, we all have that friend we adore for their unexpected style; my favorite fashion rebel is pictured on the left and will remain nameless to protect the fantastic. What is the difference between this brave soul and the rest of us?

Yet at simple as that sounds, that ten letter word is terrifying is it not? Tim Gunn, Stacy London, and Clinton Kelly will all tell you that proper undergarments are the ultimate foundations to great style- but as much as I worship these style gurus I beg to differ. You simply cannot have fun with fashion and find your personal style without confidence! Take my fantastic model pictured above, you can’t pair azure blue, with lime green, and hot pink unless you are confident and happy with who you are.
It's not easy to find confidence in yourself either, I'm well aware of that- I was just like you remember? It starts from the inside, cheesy I know, but only you can change yourself. At the boutique I work at I have heard hundreds of girls doubting themselves in certain outfits because, well they could never wear that to school. My reaction is always, why can't you wear that to school? You look adorable! It just takes confidence to be able to ignore what other people think of you.
I mean honestly, think of when the mean girls talk about you. They only are whispering about you because they are jealous. I know you hear that all the time but take it from me, I have been through all that before, they are simply jealous that they lack the confidence you glow with. So just ignore them, they are just jealous, and enjoy the clothing that makes you happy!

So that leads me to my challenge for you: Start doing things that make you feel confident!

Like I said, it won't be easy! so here are a few tips,
-Take a deep breath when you wake up and think of just one little thing you are excited for that day, it could be as simple as wanting to pet your dog, just something you look forward to.
-As you get ready in the morning flash yourself a big cheesy smile in the morning to make yourself laugh
-Listen to happy music whenever you can, in the car, walking to school, on the computer
-Wear something that makes you happy, like your favorite color or a special piece of jewelry.
-Surround yourself with people who make you laugh, laughter brings happiness and happiness brings confidence.

And don't be afraid to break the norm! The greater the risks you take, the bigger the rewards you'll get, so live a little! You can't get away with certain styles when you are older so take advantage of your age!
You never know, you may even start the next trend!
