Fashionable and Philanthropic

As October is right around the corner, actually its tomorrow, I couldn’t be happier. Not only is it my favorite month when you can enjoy your knits and jeans but it’s also breast cancer awareness month and a perfect time to donate to a deserving cause. I wanted to bring awareness to this cause because it touches more people than anyone can imagine, and it’s a chance to find inner strength and hope.
This past weekend Chicago hosted the Susan G. Komen breast cancer walk, and filled the gray city with bursts of empowering pinks, and now as October arrives many shops are giving you the chance to make a change. Just today I saw is selling a $2 pink and silver bracelet where 100% of the proceeds go to Susan G. Komen for the cure, and on top of the they will give you a $5 coupon for your next $25 purchase. Another way to donate is to that sells everything from Visors to socks as well as home and office gifts. The "Empowerment" t-shirt is one of my favorites, and at only $15 it’s and easy and affordable way to give to this fantastic cause.
If you’re thinking “you know, that last thing I need is another tchotchke” then go to and make a donation from $5 to $100, every little bit makes a difference.

And what’s more stylish than benefiting a deserving cause?
It’s what Audrey Hepburn would do.

Pre-Fall Pampering

As the best season in the world approaches it's time to better yourself before we start to hibernate. I'm a fall fanatic because it's the last time to show your colors before we cover ourselves up in North Face puffers and cable knit scarves. So in between your mani pedi appointments and hectic work schedule, put in a little time for yourself to stock up on your fall favorites.

This upcoming weekend is downtown Naperville's Ladies Weekend meaning all the downtown stores will have special events Thursday, Friday and Saturday to celebrate you. Through there Facebook I've heard twist boutique is offering 20% off all regular priced merchandise- a sale on designer jeans? I'm there.

For some other fun activities Catch 35 is hosting a breakfast and fashion show Friday from 9-11am and tickets are only $10, while Sullivan's Steakhouse is holding a lunch on Saturday from 11am-1pm for $15. Tickets are selling fast so call Catch 35 (630.717.3500) and Sullivan's (630.305.0230) today to enjoy the fun lunch, giveaways and fashion shows.

You know I'll be there,

See you!

Sign of the Apocalypse

My dear fashionistas the true sign of the apocalypse is here, it arrived Tuesday September 15th in New York. It's the week we've all been waiting for, to see the fantastic new trends for fall and this year Snuggie wanted a part of it.

Oh I'm not kidding. Yes that Snuggie.

To establish themselves as trend forward they showcased their new cozy-licious colors such as Pepto Pink, for the couch potatoes post Thanksgiving dinner. Now to include all members of the family they also had their Shih-Tzu strut down the run way to prove that now fido can be cozy warm while taking their walks.

To be true, I write this with a smile on my face because I'm currently writing this in my Cabin Cozy (, and I need to admit I love the snuggie. Once the dog style hits the Walgreen's shelves you know my little wiener dog Audrey will be wagging her tail in cozy happiness.

Warm and toasty,

Every Girls Dream

While in Seattle my mom and I did a bit of shopping, and stopped into the Mecca that is Barneys. During our brief shopping trip at the home of Simon Doonan I discovered my dream shoe: Christian Louboutin's Ron Ron shoe in Oxblood. I don't think I've seen a shoe quite so beautiful, down to the lipstick red sole this shoe is made with the highest attention to detail. Holding this piece of joy made my heart race, and I'm only $595 away from happiness.

Crossing my fingers for more work hours!

Seattle Style

Well fashionistas tomorrow I am off to the land of wellies and polar fleece. While I can't wait to pull on my forest green Hunter Rain Boots, I'm a bit nervous I'll fall into the fashion void that is Seattle. Will I come back wearing socks with flip flops? I hope not.

I do love packing for vacation, although with all these sweaters I can barely lift my suitcase down the stairs, maybe this just means I need to do some more strength building.

Anyway, while searching the Internet for Seattle Appropriate fashion I found this absolutely adorable blog called and just had to share it. They have all things Chic in Seattle, but they also showcase other destinations. I love the umbrellas on one of the more recent posts.
Well I have a bunch more suitcase editing to follow through with, I have that 50 pound weight limit daunting me, but I want to know all the place you suggest I stop at in Seattle!

Any recommendations?
