Wear: Handmade makes the season bright

Handmade gifts really are the most special, and the leather wraps I'm wearing today were handmade for me by one of my KensieGirls. You might remember this holiday party, where we also swapped secret santa gifts and I LOVE mine!!

What's your favorite handmade gift? I think they are what this season's all about because they are made with love and (a lot) of patience.

Wear: Dressy Casual

I really love maxi dresses when you want to be comfortably fashionable, so today I tried to send a mixed message with a chambray shirt and awesome wedges. The weather lately has been so warm, it's December! Christmas is just days away and yet I wasn't cold taking these pictures without a jacket.

What are you doing to get in the holiday spirit this Christmas Eve-eve? I've been crafting and baking up a storm, but today I'm taking it easy and enjoying my day off with my honey whose home from the deep south.

Wear: Happy Holidays Party

Shake up your definition of holiday colors this season. For our holiday party at work I wore purple, one of our most asked for colors at Kensie, and dark navy and still felt holiday-licious. You don't need to wear an ugly Christmas sweater to get in the spirit, although I think they're great so I won't judge you if you do.

Here are the holiday outfits of two other KensieGirls:

Both of their dresses and shoes are from Kensie, naturally.

Wear: Signs of snow

Finally! It's snowing, well kind of- can you see a few random flakes in these pictures? I live in the midwest and yet there is no snow on the ground as I wake up this morning. Dear Mother Nature- it's December 12th!

So I picked up these boots at the Kensie outlet then I log in to Facebook and these ear muffs pop up in my news feed! I had to have them.
These ear muffs are from a locally owned shop in Naperville called It's a Bling Thing and cost a tiny $15- how perfect!
It's a Bling Thing has tons and tons of accessories from rings to iPhone covers all at affordable prices, and the staff was so friendly when I stopped in I'm itching to go back.

Slacking on your holiday shopping? I strongly suggest popping into It's a Bling Thing, they have something for your 10 year old cousin, chic accessories for your sister, and a little something for yourself.
For more information visit their website and Facebook.

Wear: Influenced by Family

For my birthday my mom and I went vintage shopping in Chicago and I found my favorite new shop- the Ravenswood Antique Market. With everything from furniture to jewelry they feature different sellers with impeccably curated collections of pieces from 1920-1970.

I was so excited to find this bakelite "Irene" pin in one of the jewelry cases, not only do I have a love of bakelite installed in my from my gram, but Irene was my great grandmothers name. Tall, stunning, and creative my great grandma was someone I really looked up to growing up- she had such an artistic hand and a great story to tell.

Head on over to RAM soon- maybe you'll find a piece that you can't walk away from.

Wear: A Touch of Irish Warmth

It's Black Friday! Can you believe it, this month is flying by so fast! Obviously this post is not from today, as I have been at work from 9pm yesterday until 6am this morning.

On my days off when it's really chilly I love wearing this sweater, it's cotton and ramie, like a real Irish sweater, from the Boston Traders brand. It's my dad's sweater, but I love it so much I went searching the internet to find where Boston Trader's is sold, sadly I discovered the brand is no longer in business but you can find a few of their pieces on eBay

Oversized sweaters are really making a comeback, which makes me incredibly happy because they make a great casual look with the right accessories. The watch I'm wearing is from my favorite elmhurst shop, Kie and Kate Couture, which I stopped previously this week and she had it available in a gorgeous rose gold.

The necklace is from JewelMint, another one of my favorite jewelry haunts. Have you taken their style survey yet?

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you're all having a wonderful thanksgiving, and spending time with your friends and family!

Here are a few things I'm thankful for this year:

1. My wonderful, hilarious, and loving family

2. My fun loving boyfriend who is willing to sit through Twilight with me

3. My poochie Audrey

4. My wonderful coworkers who make me LOVE going to work every single day

5. And of course, the simple beauty of the fall season!

Have a Happy Holiday!

Wear: Do you know the way to Santa Fe

Maxi dresses rock, wearing them is like wearing your favorite sweatpants except you look incredibly chic. On a day when you really just feel like going to work looking like a shlump, pull on a maxi, layer it with a great sweater, some fun jewelry and your done.

Speaking of fun jewelry, how do you like the tri color bracelet I'm wearing? I picked it up on JewelMint, have you shopped with them yet? All their jewelry is $29.99 and I've already picked up three items after finding them one month ago- I think I have a problem!

All you have to do is fill out a fun survey, and they will recommend specific items based off your style. The bracelet I'm wearing is the Santa Fe Sunset Bracelet, if you want to pick one up for yourself.

Wear: Shop for versatility

So, it's cold out, way to cold out to take pictures without a jacket unless your a crazy fashion blogger.
I love this outfit though, I opened the box with this odd chiffon over-thing at Kensie and was so confused on how to wear it I had to call my corporate office for instructions! After receiving pictures and a brief explanation I was up for the challenge and purchased it for myself, and now it's one of my favorite pieces.

You can wear this three different ways: with sleeves and the belt in the back, sleeveless, or bloused with the belt behind your neck. I just like how versatile it is, buying it gives you three new tops in your wardrobe with just one purchase.

Wear: Inspired by the colors of the season

We all know how much I love fall, but the end of fall is always a sight to be seen as well. The skies are grey and tumultuous, there are only a few bright fall leaves left, and we all need to start wearing our favorite coats.

This jacket was an exciting find of mine, it was on  the damaged rack at a boutique for a small little mark near the color. Don't worry, I snagged this baby up real quick and didn't think twice about the final sale warning- don't they know I've never returned anything?

The necklace above is made by one of my most favorite boss, Wendy Maves, who is the most incredible jewelry designer- all her pieces have such a good happy vibe to them. You can pick up a piece of her magical collection on Etsy.
