Wear: Zulugrass

Sweater: Bella Caley | Top + Leggings: Kensie
Boots: Bakers | Bag: Pour La Victoire | Jewelry: Zulugrass from The Leakey Collection

Sorry for the day late post, with being sick and packing for Huntsville it's been a pretty jam packed weekend.  I hope this post has you looking at my jewelry, I got this set as a gift from Ryan's mom for Christmas and it's so easy to wear. More importantly, it's a great brand, designed by the Maasai tribe in east Africa out of zulu grass, wood, and beads the jewelry helps support the economy of a tribe who lost everything to due to a draught in 2001.

Shop: Spring Flowers

I've got a little bit of a spring cold, so to cheer myself up I did a round up of five of my favorite Spring dresses- I'm so ready to get my tan on!

1. 1960's dress | Bitter Root Vintage | $88

How can you not love the full skirt of this beautiful vintage dress from Bitter Root, perfect paired with a yellow cardigan and bright sandals.

2. Scoop neck belted sheath | Macy's | $98

This dress makes me miss the Kensie outlet- their collections are constantly improving and this Spring '12 line is no different. Stunning combinations of orange, yellow, and cream have me counting down the days until Spring.

3. Burgeoning Hypericum Dress | Anthropologie | $158

When someone talks about Spring dresses this is what comes to my mind, a halter style with a full skirt. Oh Anthropologie, how I adore you- it's going to be so dangerous working here, I'll run my bank account dry!

4. Spring Print Floral Dress | Riffraff | $39

So easy and feminine this dress is, it makes me want to sip sangria on my back porch and snack on tapas! If you don't live in Arkansas don't fret- the fabulous women at Riffraff let you order on their Facebook!

5. Sweetheart Spaghetti Strap Dress | Tulle | $75

And finally a dress from one of my favorite brands, Tulle, they are the masters of perfect fitting and easy dresses. Plus, when there are chilly spring days pair this with tights, boots, and a cardigan. Perfect!

Wear: Product of my Raising

Dress: Kensie | Jacket: H&M | Tights: Target
Necklace + Boots: My trip to Arizona

So this post is a from a few days ago, when my friend Sidra and I went to this country bar to get me familiar with my soon-to-be country life and to celebrate some really fantastic news she got. Life has been changing a lot lately, all of us Kensie girls have had new things happening in our lives but all great.

I'm feeling this country style of dressing, it feels a little bit costume-y but let's be real, all my favorite costumes outfits have a theatrical tendency. I'm getting so excited to move to the south though, last weekend I visited Ryan and am even more motivated now to pack up and head down!

Wear: An Education

Sweater + Skirt: c/o eShakti | Cardigan + Tights: Target

This Crafted Dots Blouse is one of my most favorite purchases for Spring- it's classic, easy, and yet so versatile. That's why I love my most recent picks from eShakti-  their items are trendy yet can be worn all year round by every body type. The bow at the neckline is a big trend I've seen for spring, and of course we've seen yellow all over the place lately.

The best part of shopping at eShakti though, is that you can tailor each piece to your specific measurements. For only $7.95 per item you can provide all your measurements so the items you buy fit you like a glove- perfect for bridesmaids dresses for the upcoming wedding season! Plus, the items arrive really quickly and their staff is prompt with responses and so friendly.

This skirt is currently sold out- however for a similar style I would recommend their Safari Club Skirt

Make: Double-Rich Chocolate Cookies

I have as much interest in the Super Bowl as I do in wearing mom jeans, however the food is what I'm all about. We went over to my grams for her delicious Italian beef sandwiches and German chocolate cake, so I decided to bring these chocolate cookies in a festive football shape.

Start by getting your ingredients together- it really makes baking go by smoothly as opposed to running all around

Mix together your dry ingredients

Mix together your wet ingredients, then add your dry

I mix in the chocolate chips in by hand to prevent overmixing

Squeeze the cookie ends together to make a football shape, then frost on your cute little football stitches

Ta-Da! So fun, but these cookies can be made year round!

The original recipe is from Mrs. Fields Cookie Book- which is the only book I use when I bake, and the recipe is as follows:

2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup dark brown sugar (however I always use light brown!)
3/4 cup white sugar
1 cup salted butter (this time I used unsalted though- it doesn't make a HUGE difference)
3 large eggs
2 tsp. pure vanilla
2 cups semisweet chocolate chip (I always use Hersey's special dark chocolate)

Preheat oven at 300'
In a medium bowl combine flour, soda, salt, and cocoa powder well with a wire whisk and set aside.
In a large bow blend sugars with an electric mixer at medium speed. Add butter and beat to form a grainy paste. Scrape down sides of bowl, then add eggs and vanilla. Beat at medium speed until light and fluffy.
Add flour mixture and chocolate chips, and blend at low speed just until combined. Do not overmix.
Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets, 1 1/2 inches apart. Bake for 21-23 minutes. Immediately transfer cookies with a spatula to a cool surface.

Wear: Casual Thursday?

Sweater + Leggings: Twist Boutique | Boots: Minnetonka
Earrings: M2 Boutique | Bangles: Street Vendor

In moving to Alabama I'm cleaning out my room and in doing so I found these FANTASTIC boots! I bought them last year but stored them away in an odd closet during the summer- but very glad to have them back. It's crazy packing all my stuff up- it makes me realize how much clothing I have! I've packed 5 extra large space bags already- and probably have five or six more to go.

In this process though I've decided to open a Goodsie shop! Feel free to shop my closet here, and for new buyers can use the coupon code FIRSTPURCHASE for 20% off your purchase from now until February 16!

Wear: Girls Night Out

Dress + Shoes: Kensie | Tights: Target
Watch: Kie&Kate Couture

Last weekend Chelsea and I went out for a night on the town after shutting down Kensie (so sad) but we take any excuse to get dolled up and go dancing. While it's sad to see such an incredible business close, I'm thankful for how close we all became and I'm so glad it introduced Chelsea and I.

This dress was the last purchase I made at Kensie- and I'm so happy I did, it's a perfect going out dress. Despite how much I love dresses, I have a severe lack of "paint the town red" dresses- which is most likely due to my lack of "paint the town red" activities. Here is to new changes in the new year though!

Wear: Going a'blogging

Sweater: Target | Chiffon top + Leggings: Kensie
Boots: Hunter | Socks: Nordstrom

What do I wear when I'm off blogging? This outfit! Today I'm hanging around with Chelsea and getting her blog launched onto the World Wide Web- exciting, no?

She learned the first difficulty about being a full time blogger, not the non-existent pay check or the constant need of new clothes, but the fact that you're always cold. There is no coat wearing when you're a fashion blogger- coats are for normal people!

Pop on over to South Meets City and write Chels a welcome note- she'll love it!
